Andy Hall Photography

My name is Andy Hall and I am the owner of Sweetlight Gallery in Crookston, MN.
I’ve been a full time photographer for the past 24 years and I feel very fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love!

Artist Statement:
For me, photography is a way to communicate about a place, time or experience. My photography is both self-expression, and an attempt to savor (and sometimes just witness) visual experiences of my life. What emerges in my camera’s viewfinder is not really visible to me until I can quiet my mind enough to see the perfection in the obvious and the stunning beauty of the often overlooked.

Technique and Methods:
My photographs are created using a digital camera, a variety of lenses, and a tripod. I own camera gear from several different manufacturers. I’m not married to one brand name because just one manufacturer doesn’t always make the right tool for each shooting situation. I believe the person holding the camera, not the name on the front of it, creates great photographs.
